The role of a ‘Foundation Supporter’ is to help us reach our financial targets by donating funds, enlisting the support of peers and promoting the cause beyond our shores.


Irish Support Network

Patrick Coveney

Patrick has been the Chief Executive Officer of Greencore Group Plc. since March 2008 and serves as its Chairman of the Group Executive Board. Prior to Greencore, he served as Managing Partner of McKinsey Ireland. He has been a Non-Executive Director of Glanbia plc. since May 30, 2014.

Patrick is a former Rhodes scholar and holds a D.Phil. and M.Phil. from Oxford University. He also has a B.Comm (First Class) from University College Cork.

In May 2017 Patrick was recipient of the The Ireland Funds Outstanding Contribution to Business Award, which was presented to him by Kieran McLoughlin, worldwide President & CEO of The Ireland Funds.

Patrick is an accomplished a member of Royal Cork Yacht Club and will be taking part in the Rolex New York Yacht Club Invitational in Rhode Island this September along with fellow committee member Anthony O’Leary.

Basil Geoghegan

Basil is a Partner at PJT Partners in London. Prior to joining PJT Partners, Mr. Geoghegan was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and Citigroup in London and New York. He has broad M&A, corporate finance and strategic advisory experience, in the US, UK, Ireland and internationally.


Mr. Geoghegan also has an extensive record in complex M&A, public takeovers and anti-raid situations, including healthcare, financial services, TMT and transportation.


Mr. Geoghegan has worked on many M&A and restructuring assignments for banks, insurers, asset managers, regulators and governments. He qualified as a solicitor with Slaughter & May. Mr. Geoghegan is a director of the Irish Aviation Authority and Patron of The Ireland Fund of Great Britain. He is a Scholar of, and holds an LLB from Trinity College, Dublin and an LLM from European University Institute.

Edward S. Carey

Edward is a Director of the energy firm Good Energy. He is an Economist with a background in public policy, energy related sales to commercial & industrial organizations (Public and Private), and has over 25 + years experience in the energy and environmental industries. Edward holds a BS in Economics from Syracuse University (94)


Edward started racing in the mid 1970’s when he was 7 years old. He has progressed into Collegiate, PHRF, IRC and other One-Design and classic sailing Yachts.


Edward Carey is currently a member of New York Yacht Club, Shelter Island Yacht Club (Trustee) and Storm Trysail Club


We are delighted to have Edward onboard as Chairman of the Irish Sailing Foundation USA Advisory Committee.

Trevor Madigan

Trevor is founder of The Vision Lab (TVL), a firm which helps companies transform by tapping into the wisdom of their employees. TVL have developed advanced engagement analytics software using artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to gather insights from large numbers of employees in a simple and fast way.


Trevor has served in several technology leadership positions over the past decade and in 2012 he was named to the ‘Irish America: Top Business 100’ List. Trevor sits on the advisory board of University College Dublin, graduate business school and the advisory board of nonprofit Social Entrepreneurs Ireland.


Prior to founding TVL, Trevor was based at Facebook New York. As Global Business Manager, he led international sales & business development for Facebook’s key partners, advertisers and some of the World’s leading brands, such as Samsung, Microsoft and Unilever. Trevor joined Facebook after almost 15 years in global sales and marketing leadership positions with Nokia, Mulberry and Mitsubishi.


He holds a DBS in Business Strategy from the London School of Economics and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Politics from University College Dublin. Trevor is a native of Dublin, Ireland and now resides in Manhattan, New York with his wife Breanne and son Conor.

Brendan Brownyard

Brendan is CEO of the Brownyard Group, a national insurance subsidiary of W.H. Brownyard Corporation. Since 1950, Brownyardhas developed and provided specialized insurance programs for select industries across America.


A keen sailor, Brendan is a member of New York Yacht Club, Shelter Island Yacht Club (Trustee) and Storm Trysail Club


He is also Helmsman Eligibility Chairman for the NYYC Swan Class 42 and will also be competing in the Rolex New York Yacht Club Invitational in September.

Edward Sweeney

Ed is a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley in New York City and is a graduate of Hofstra University in Long Island.


He plays an active role in the community and is a strong advocate for the needs of disabled children and adults. He serves as Chairman of Center for Discovery and is President of the Dominican Friars Foundation.


Ed is also a member of The Sovereign Military Order of Malta.

Enda McShane

Enda is CEO and founder of Velocity Worldwide. First established by Mr. McShane in 2000, Velocity Worldwide began as a boutique retail-marketing agency called Spirit Communications Limited, later becoming Spirit Marketing Group. Mr. McShane has since grown Velocity to become a global entity with headquarters in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and offices in Dublin, London and New York.


Prior to founding Velocity, Mr. McShane held various senior marketing titles with London Events Agency and Archer Leisure. Mr. McShane is a thought leader and accomplished speaker across the retail marketing, shopping center marketing and customer engagement industries. He is also an active member of several industry associations, most notably RG Data IE Retailer Association, Scottish Grocers Federation, and ICSC. He attended the University of Ulster where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Sports and Fitness Administration & Management.


Mr. McShane currently resides in Brooklyn, New York with his wife, Rachel and children, Isabella and Teddy. He enjoys soccer, rugby, basketball, golf and travelling.

Rosemarie Ryan

Rosemarie is co:founder and CEO of co:collective.  She is a renowned leader, brand builder and rabble-rouser in the marketing industry.  She started her career at BBDO in the UK and moved to New York to join Chiat Day in 1989.

She has been instrumental in positioning and building world-class brands for Diageo, Johnson and Johnson, Debeers, Bing for Microsoft and Jetblue. As president of K&B she took it from a 30-person boutique to a 400 person strong award-winning agency. She then took on the mantle of leading the 125-year old JWT into the 21st century. In her tenure she restructured the workplace, the teams and creative product, and doubled the profits of the agency. Culminating with JWT being named Adages global agency of the year in January 2010.

Not satisfied with reinventing an agency, she decided it was time to reinvent the industry.

In September of 2010, Rosemarie, along with her creative partner Ty Montague, left JWT and founded co:collective. Co: is a storydoing collective focused on inventing and re-inventing businesses, brands and products. Their clients include, Google, MetLife Pepsi and Puma.

In April of 2009, Rosemarie was awarded the Quantum Leap Award from AWNY. This award recognizes individuals who have taken big risks by spurring significant changes in their organizations. In September 2012, Rosemarie was named as one of the “100 Most Influential Women in Advertising” by Advertising Age. And in August of 2017 she was named as one of the 4A’s 100 People Who Make Advertising Great.

Rosemarie is married to Benjamin Dyett, her husband, sailing partner and father to her 19 year old daughter Ella.
