Patrick Coveney

Patrick has been the Chief Executive Officer of Greencore Group Plc. since March 2008 and serves as its Chairman of the Group Executive Board. Prior to Greencore, he served as Managing Partner of McKinsey Ireland. He has been a Non-Executive Director of Glanbia plc. since May 30, 2014.

Patrick is a former Rhodes scholar and holds a D.Phil. and M.Phil. from Oxford University. He also has a B.Comm (First Class) from University College Cork.

In May 2017 Patrick was recipient of the The Ireland Funds Outstanding Contribution to Business Award, which was presented to him by Kieran McLoughlin, worldwide President & CEO of The Ireland Funds.

Patrick is an accomplished a member of Royal Cork Yacht Club and will be taking part in the Rolex New York Yacht Club Invitational in Rhode Island this September along with fellow committee member Anthony O’Leary.

Denis O'Brien

Denis O’Brien is Chairman and principal shareholder of the privately-owned Digicel Group, one of the fastest growing cellular companies in the world.

Mr. O’Brien founded Digicel in 2001 when the company launched a GSM cellular phone service in the Caribbean. The Digicel Group has extended its operations to 32 markets with over 11.9 million subscribers in the Caribbean, Central America and South Pacific regions, including Jamaica, Haiti and Papua New Guinea Mr. O’Brien is one of Ireland’s leading entrepreneurs with extensive investments across several sectors including international telecoms, radio, media, property, aircraft leasing, golf, online recruitment and other interests. He also founded Communicorp Group which owns and manages a portfolio of media and broadcasting-related companies in Ireland, Bulgaria and Latvia. Denis O’Brien founded the Esat Telecom Group plc and built it throughout the 1990’s until its sale to British Telecom plc for € 2.4 billion. Outside of his extensive business interests, Denis chaired the 2003 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Ireland. It was the first time the Summer Games were staged outside the US with teams from 160 countries and over 30,000 volunteers, the 2003 Summer Games were the most successful ever. Denis is a Director on the US Board of Concern Worldwide and a member of the United Nations Broadband Commission for Digital Development. In addition, he is the Chairman and Co-Founder of Frontline, the International Foundation for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders.  Based in Dublin, Frontline is working to ensure that the standards set out in the UN Declaration on Human Rights Defenders, adopted in 1998, are known, respected and adhered to worldwide.  Frontline’s work consists of research, advocacy, communications/technical assistance and emergency evacuation of human rights activists. In 2000 he established The Iris O’Brien Foundation to identify and assist projects in Ireland and internationally which aim to alleviate disadvantaged communities. Denis holds a BA degree from University College Dublin and an MBA from Boston College.

Basil Geoghegan

Basil is a Partner at PJT Partners in London. Prior to joining PJT Partners, Mr. Geoghegan was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and Citigroup in London and New York. He has broad M&A, corporate finance and strategic advisory experience, in the US, UK, Ireland and internationally.

 

Mr. Geoghegan also has an extensive record in complex M&A, public takeovers and anti-raid situations, including healthcare, financial services, TMT and transportation.

 

Mr. Geoghegan has worked on many M&A and restructuring assignments for banks, insurers, asset managers, regulators and governments. He qualified as a solicitor with Slaughter & May. Mr. Geoghegan is a director of the Irish Aviation Authority and Patron of The Ireland Fund of Great Britain. He is a Scholar of, and holds an LLB from Trinity College, Dublin and an LLM from European University Institute.

Edward S. Carey

Edward is a Director of the energy firm Good Energy. He is an Economist with a background in public policy, energy related sales to commercial & industrial organizations (Public and Private), and has over 25 + years experience in the energy and environmental industries. Edward holds a BS in Economics from Syracuse University (94)

 

Edward started racing in the mid 1970’s when he was 7 years old. He has progressed into Collegiate, PHRF, IRC and other One-Design and classic sailing Yachts.

 

Edward Carey is currently a member of New York Yacht Club, Shelter Island Yacht Club (Trustee) and Storm Trysail Club

 

We are delighted to have Edward onboard as Chairman of the Irish Sailing Foundation USA Advisory Committee.

Trevor Madigan

Trevor is founder of The Vision Lab (TVL), a firm which helps companies transform by tapping into the wisdom of their employees. TVL have developed advanced engagement analytics software using artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to gather insights from large numbers of employees in a simple and fast way.

 

Trevor has served in several technology leadership positions over the past decade and in 2012 he was named to the ‘Irish America: Top Business 100’ List. Trevor sits on the advisory board of University College Dublin, graduate business school and the advisory board of nonprofit Social Entrepreneurs Ireland.

 

Prior to founding TVL, Trevor was based at Facebook New York. As Global Business Manager, he led international sales & business development for Facebook’s key partners, advertisers and some of the World’s leading brands, such as Samsung, Microsoft and Unilever. Trevor joined Facebook after almost 15 years in global sales and marketing leadership positions with Nokia, Mulberry and Mitsubishi.

 

He holds a DBS in Business Strategy from the London School of Economics and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Politics from University College Dublin. Trevor is a native of Dublin, Ireland and now resides in Manhattan, New York with his wife Breanne and son Conor.
