When and where did you first try sailing?
On Blessington Lake when I was 8. My dad got in the water and held on to the painter and let me sail around.
Who introduced you to sailing?
My dad and brothers.
What was the first boat you raced?
Topper.
What was the first race you won?
The egg and spoon race at the Bennekerry field day!
When did you first represent Ireland?
Topper British Inlands in 2007.
How did you progress from a Club sailor to an Olympic class sailor?
I got on to the ISA Topper Squad when I was very young. Then I kept training hard and moved up through the Laser Radial and now the Laser full rig.

Tina.
Who has been the biggest influence in your career to date?
Milan Vujasinovic – my coach.
What was your worst sailing moment?
Coming second in the trials for the ISAF Youth Worlds in 2013.
What was your best sailing moment?
Coming second in ISAF Youth Worlds in 2012 in my home club.
What is your favourite boat to sail?
I only sail a Laser! But I hope to start sailing Moths, I’m sure that will be then.
What do you eat for breakfast on a race day?
Maybe eggs and some cereal, but it changes depending on what country I’m in.
What three things are always in your suitcase?
After-sun (I burn a lot!), foam roller and an adapter.
What is the best sailing venue in Ireland?
Schull, Co. Cork
What is the best sailing venue in the world?
Lake Garda in Italy
What was your most expensive sailing accident?
I ripped five sails in my last year in Toppers.
What’s the top speed you’ve reached sailing?
I’m not sure, in a Moth anyway!
If you weren’t a full-time sailor what would you be?
A famous pop star.
Do you have any heroes?
Fionn Lyden (ISA Academy team-mate).
Do you play any other sports?
I used to play everything but stopped once I got serious in sailing.
What do you do for fun?
Paddle boarding, Moth sailing, extreme ping pong with Fionn Lyden.
What’s your best attribute?
My ambition or my hair.
What’s your worst habit?
Being stubborn!
What makes you angry?
Losing.
What’s your dream holiday?
An adventure holiday with my brothers! Doing mad activities like cliff jumping and rock climbing!
What’s your favourite food?
Can’t tell you, my coaches would kill me!

Elastic.
What’s your favourite TV show or movie?
Anchorman and New Girl.
